Our industry – Our fashion!

The pure creative drive that goes into creating the fashion industry is unlike any other in the world.  It combines the mechanics of engineering with the soft touches of sculpting.  From the blending of texture and color to the geometric architecture of how a blouse rests on a model’s shoulders, there truly is no industry like the fashion industry.  Our ranks are filled with beautiful and creative people striving to create the patterns in their minds onto the exterior world for all to enjoy and hopefully wear.

But, let’s face facts.  Such an industry filled with so many creative and hard-working people is both extremely competitive and prone to, dare I say, industry bias.  There are many of us with creative visions whom may not have yet established those crucial connections with those whom can produce and distribute them.

And that is where you, my dear friend, come into play.

One of my main goals, my vision if you will, is to strive to remind the young fashion designers – both the apprentices and the journeymen alike – that this industry isn’t solely about going it alone.

 

My Mission

I want to create a vibrant and constructive community of young fashion designers from all across the world, whom crave challenge and adventure, and are willing to put it on the line to get their individual and group fashion projects off the ground.

My first phase is promoting my first line of clothes.   It is a beautiful take on Japanese minimalist approach to contrast and texture, blended with the functionality of the woman whom embraces both the frenzied bustle of the city as well as the quiet seclusion of a deserted ocean beach.  This line has been a great journey in finding both my voice as a designer and discovering different eco-friendly approaches to creating the look that I crave.  The process of creating this line was quite refreshing and enjoyable, but I am stuck at an impasse.

To be perfectly honest, I need assistance in manufacturing them.  The eco-friendly fabric I incorporate into my designs, however elegant and beautiful, is not exactly working on a low budget.  And the need for the sewing equipment to realize my goals of production – no amount of design can substitute the need for good, honest, and solid equipment to manufacture such an elegant line of clothing.

Once that is complete, I would like to take the successes of my usage of texture and contrast and create an exhilarating line of men’s clothes that challenge the conventional wisdom and push boundaries.  As I draw my inspiration from both nature and the stark contrast of the city, I would like to take the minimalist expressions I see from both of these environments and imbue men’s clothing with it, as I have done for women’s clothing.
